And many people, especially at an animal welfare organization, say sadly: ‘The world is a nasty place to live in.
So, today we are sharing another sad story about how cruel the humans can be with their dogs. This story is about a dog mom and her 10 cute puppies who were cruelly dumped by their owner.
That poor mother dog was beyond broken, on her last legs. But she hung on till a team of caring rescuers found her and her pups.
The appearance of the animals when they were discovered by a dedicated rescuer from the charity FAP, in their woods, was heart-wrenching. The mother was quaking with fear and concern.
Fortunately these good Samaritans didn’t judge her, they knew all the horrors she had been through — abuse, neglect and being abandoned by her owner all while trying to keep her puppies safe.
The Power of Love
But it was the love she held for her puppies that made her want to fight on in a desperate situation.
Upon noticing this connection the rescuer were quick to act. They snuck the whole family out of that God awful place and away from danger.
Naturally, the mother dog was still nervous. I can understand her reaction considering she was betrayed by someone very close to her.
But, as these loving souls loved on her, she began to loosen up a bit—I knew she was healing.
Towards a Brighter Future
When the puppies arrived at the rescue center, they clearly needed food. The mother had lost of milk due to malnutrition.
Thankfully, she still wanted to eat and drink some water. As the weeks wore on, and her body healed with rest and nourishment, she was eventually able to feed her starving babies.
Mana, the name of the mother dog, began to change before their eyes while day after day turned into weeks full of love and care.
We weren’t afraid anymore, and neither were Mana and her pups. After a few days, she built her strength up and even gained some weight—4.4lb to be precise—which is always a good rehab sign.
A Happy Ending Awaits
But slowly, day by day, this family, which was torn and broken started to blossom. They moved from mere existence to actual living.
For Mana and her pups, the last piece of the puzzle was a forever home – somewhere they could be safe and loved again.
Well away from the shadows of that wood it looks like this doggy family has brighter days ahead of them.
Now they are happy and healthy, so maybe their happily ever after is just around the corner.
Community Support
Tales such as Mana’s are heard throughout the communities. An online community sprung into action, sharing their indignation at such an act of cruelty and highlighting animal welfare issues.
Many people tried to help, and social media platforms became a home for them. Money for vet bills and food and upgrades to buildings for various animals saved came in by the bucketful.
We see this outpouring of support for a single human being and that shows just how many people care about each individual life lost. It illustrates that when a lot of people come together for something important, they can have an enormous impact.
The Journey Ahead
Although this episode has a happy ending for Mana and her puppies, their journey is only just beginning. They will need love and care as they settle into their new homes, finding peace after trauma.
They, along with many other animals in their situation, really need to find a new forever home. Every single one about a dog or cat getting helped and pairing that needy fellow with a loving forever home provides hope, and inspires others to adopt or form shelters.
