People often fail to understand that dogs have only one true love in their lives: their owners. This bond should be cherished, not shattered.
Sadly, some individuals choose to end this connection in the most heartless ways. Instead of surrendering their pets to a shelter, they abandon them, leaving a trail of heartbreak behind.
Recently, a 75-pound dog in Southern California faced this cruel reality when his owner tossed him from a car onto a busy street.
Confusion on the Streets
Left alone amidst honking cars and bustling pedestrians, the poor pup was utterly bewildered and heartbroken. He ran in circles, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
As his owner sped away, he was left to navigate the chaos of traffic all by himself.

Mary, a local rescuer, spotted the distressed dog and immediately contacted Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization dedicated to helping animals in need.
“When he first got thrown out he was so confused, running around in circles in traffic,” Hall shared in a Facebook post.
A Frightening Situation
As Mary approached the dog, she noticed how skittish he was. Despite his large size, he was terrified and hesitant to let anyone near him.
Trapped by fear and uncertainty, he stayed on the street where he had been abandoned.
Things took a turn for the worse when he attempted to cross the road. The busy traffic only added to his panic.
At one point, he narrowly escaped being hit by a large Jeep.
“He is literally 75 pounds and so big but so scared. A huge jeep with huge tires literally went over him. Thank God the jeep was so high off the ground,” Mary recounted.
Rescue Efforts Begin
Realizing the urgency of the situation, Hall quickly teamed up with fellow rescuers Karla, Yamileth, and Nunez. This compassionate group arrived on the scene as soon as they could.
With patience and determination, they worked to befriend this frightened giant.
Eventually, they managed to coax him into a fenced yard using some tasty treats.
Though still traumatized, the dog was finally safe from the dangers of the street.
A New Chapter for Benji
The pup was given the name Benji—a fitting title for such a resilient dog! After being gently lifted into their car, he began an entirely new journey.
For Suzette, this moment signified something monumental: Benji’s days of fear and trauma were finally coming to an end!
“They got him into a yard and shut the gate. My heart was so happy. The fear and terror he had been through was over. And this big hunk of pure love was finally safe,” Hall concluded.
Healing and Hope
Thanks to his rescuers’ efforts, Benji will receive all the care he needs moving forward. For the first time in his life, he will genuinely experience love—far removed from the cruelty that once surrounded him.
Benji is staying with a foster family right now, where he can socialize with other dogs and meet new people.
This environment is crucial for his recovery; it allows him to regain trust in humans while allowing him to enjoy playful interactions with his canine companions.
When the time is right, he’ll be looking for a forever home filled with joy and laughter—a place where he can thrive and feel loved.
