However, we also have our heroes in sight that are working silently in the background in their own communities. Not wearing any capes but they surely possess the purest hearts.
They work tirelessly to assist those who are in need, not seeking anything back in return. The biggest satisfaction for them is to see smiles on their faces!
So, without further ado, our hero of today is a Detroit-based man clad in an electrician workwear outfit. He just knew something was wrong when he saw a pair of disconsolate eyes looking at him from the rear yard of an idle home. Well he jumped to action right then and there!
A Selfless Mission
Marc, a DTE electrician was in the area working on an abandoned house when he noticed two furry faces peeking at him. They hadn’t got very near him yet so he took a step or two nearer.
After he finally got far enough away, he looked back and saw two puppies in the back yard sitting close together. One appeared injured, but both were clearly emaciated and underweight for their age.
Marc cautiously approached them to earn their trust. But the dogs both appeared to be afraid. Even when he wished to offer them a hand, they continued maintaining safe distance.
Marc wrote in a comment on the DPCDR post, “I always have some treats in my truck but I was out…they really wanted to trust me but just weren’t sure.
Speed then reached out to Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue, a 501(c)3 supporting injured and sick strays off the streets. The organization director, Theresa Sumpter, responded immediately.
On the same day, the DPCDR team reached the site of incident. The dogs were reportedly fed by local children, but roamed streetlife with no owner.
He said one of the puppies was hurt and that they were both malnourished. Neighbors said kids had been feeding the dogs but they were strays. DPCDR Team: We went to the location
The pups quibbled for around 30 minutes, torn as to whether or not they should approach Sumpter until the dog lover coaxed them over with some treats. The dogs ultimately melted — it took some patience, a little sweet talk, and plenty of good food, but they did come around.
Healing While Waiting For A Forever Home
Sumpter placed both canines in a crate and drove them to the vet medical center for their first examination. Even in a crate and at the hospital, they appeared to be shy and uncertain on what would happen next.

Sumpter and the crew were subject to talk cards because it was probably going to take a short period for the pets– that were afterwards named Beauty and Elegance as well– to become accustomed to their Brand-new life setting.
Most likely they lived all life on a street, far from what we can even barely call communication with other living beings.
And much later, two weeks of heart-to-heart and next level shit happened — wow! Around their caregivers, Grace and Mercy became entirely new dogs. And they came out of their shells and started feeling at home around hoomans.)
Just a little love appears to have done the trick for these sweet pups and starting off their trust again. And now that they can finally experience life in a home – both will be up for adoption.

These pupsters have been through so much, they really deserve to find a family that will show them what life should be all about! And we hope it’s sooner rather than later!
