That is why from time to time, a dog walks away busting out of homes and disappears from the area for an indefinite period. This is particularly true if the yard or house isn’t properly fenced and the dog is rambunctious and full of energy.
Most often, in such cases the panicked owner will ring up the police or experienced rescuers desperately praying that the dog does not stray far and that he would be found quickly flew back home.
It is not too often that a dog comes back after a promised period of time to be home alone by himself. Even less common, is when he will ring the bell himself to have someone answer it for him. And yet, that is what went down at one house in Minneapolis, Minnesota one day.
The Sweetest Surprise
Victor, the homeowner who shared a video of a Bernese Mountain Dog called Buddy ringing his doorbell, could not believe it especially as he thought his two-year-old dog was in the house.
But according to this guy, who later spoke with PEOPLE magazine, that was after Buddy had figured out how to leap over the 4-foot fence surrounding the house’s yard.
Initially, Victor said, they had no clue how he was escaping. “But when we caught sight of him jumping out of the yard, that’s when we recognised it.”
But that day, neither he nor his family members ever suspected a thing – Buddy had snuck out of the residence in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Fifteen minutes later, the bell rang and a camera showed his face.
While they were shocked to see him on that side of the door, what fascinated them more was that he used the doorbell camera like an expert. The same camera that captured the moment also allows us to witness it ourselves.
In the beginning part of the video, it shows Buddy’s wagging tail so he is in a happy and enjoying mood. Then within a few moments, he stands up on his back legs to ring the doorbell and subsequently “install” his head directly camera.

The door opens a few moments later, and an excited voice rings out loud: “Buddy.” And with one person still looking, it is Viktor’s daughter who struggles to contain her enthusiasm to see her dog again and in this manner.
“He Is Very Smart”
Once the dust settled on this highly unusual scene starring Buddy the dog, how did he do it? Victor, however, has a theory of his own.
We figured he had watched people ring the doorbell (our front door is glass) and noticed that we came to answer the doorknob shortly after they pressed it. Victor commented, “Well he is really clever.
If one go goes deep into research, he can get the proof from science also very easily. More specifically, per Science, our dog buddies they are able to replicate exactly the behavior of people —something once thought only humans could do. That very fact explains a lot.
Anyway, while Buddy did win some sympathy points from his family with the act, he also inspired them to take a few measures that were stricter so that it wouldn’t be as easy for him to escape anymore.
