This good doggo just came in showing signs of ownership wanting.

The Commander actually felt that Griffin would eventually wander into their base when he saw the pup approach him. After all, you don’t get to see a dog entering an armed force facility every single day.
Paws Of War, a non-profit organization described in a Facebook post: “A U.S. Naval Commander noticed the little dog and knew that in this war-torn country he would not survive long on his own; Immediately picking him up in arms remembering how the unit motto was Yours can’t die…those who come back alive, go back alive, it applies to this wee soul too!
People went crazy when the rumor broke that there was a puppy on base. All of them would, in turn, wish to see the little fella who had possessed so much bravery as to come into a place with so many giant, powerful dudes in it.
Little Griffin was not afraid of the army suits and big guns. He stole their hearts, took the wind out of their combat boots, and earned his self coined title as a pint sized hero.

The Commander, who declined to be named, said he did not want Griffin left behind. A brave soldier (from Maryland) with a wife and kids who were more than elated to have a dog like Griffin.
Little Griffin became family.

And there they were, little Griffin finally got his wish — he got himself the hooman he always deserved.
Support and donations to Paws of War, the non-profit group that gives service dogs to veterans, helped Griffin relocate from the base to Maryland, into a new family home.

The first face he saw was his Commander; the first hooman to really know what a special prince Griffin is.
Griffin then began to serve and protect his family, just like his hooman daddy.
