Our infinite love is basically all that our pups need to be happy. Seeing their wagging tails and melting eyes while they shower us with love warms our hearts.
Unfortunately, the same can not be said for all dog owners.
It is gut-wrenching to know that a human can hurt an animal’s spirit and do so much harm.
Who could possibly betray these beautiful, innocent creatures who love us so much?
One of those innocent puppies was Ladybird, who discovered exactly how cruel the world can be. The lovable little fur baby was heartlessly dumped and left tied to a tree.
Despite the chill and fear, Ladybird waited at the tree with her human eyes glued to the street below. This brave heart inside her had the hopes of being noticed and cared for by someone sometime.
Spotting A Defenseless Puppy
Just driving along Kentucky, here’s this little brown and white pup sitting by a tree. As they slowed down, they realised that the poor fur baby was tied to a tree. Their hearts broken, they called Lewis County Animal Shelter immediately.
After the call, the rescuers made their way to the site. They retrieved the fur babe and then took her to the shelter.
She looked so stoic sitting there by the tree, waiting for someone to see her. Thank God she was taken in by the shelter. Actually, she was found very close to the shelter,” Kim Desroches — from Friends of Lewis County Animals — told The Dodo.
The precious pup, now known as Ladybird, entered the shelter scared and confused.
The shelter workers also realized Ladybird wasn’t a fit for the large, open public shelter. She was so small and broken; a dog who required love.
So when Friends of Lewis County Animals employee Kim Desroches saw Ladybird’s photo on the shelter’s Facebook, she was heartbroken.
This sweet pup was about six to seven weeks old.
Without a second glance, Rescue staff and Desroches are aghast someone tied up an adorable pup such as Ladybird and walked away.
Desroches was determined to find the sweet little fur baby a foster spot. She also was aware that the shelter environment is a potential minefield of diseases for a puppy.
Ladybird Leaves The Shelter
Desroches soon found her a foster home, and Ladybird was rescued from the shelter.
Nice little pup full of puppy energy going in to live with her foster mom. She snuggled with Ladybird, lavishing her with some attention.
When love drove away every fear inside Ladybird, the little pup chilled out and know how to play!
Eventually a rescue based in Ohio called Licking County Humane Society—one of her rescuer’s placements after spending some time in a foster home—helped Ladybird out.
The sweet pooch comes with a happy adoption pending announcement from the rescue via their Facebook on Jan 27th, 2024.
Here, crossing our fingers, hoping Ladybird found her own happy ending. She 10000% deserves to be loved and loved HARD. She will no longer feel lost and alone.
