The top priority when going to meet a stray scared dog is to go very slowly. And if they are scared, well, for good reason and they may strike out.
The majority of them simply want some food and rest, so best way is to entertain them with some food. They might grow to trust you if they see you don’t mean any harm.
This story is about a dog who had it the same way but is finally safe, thanks to his beautiful rescuer.
Scared Pup Living In An Alley
One such everyday was when a dog, found alone and lost in a tiny backroad, waited to be discovered by these Stray Rescue of St. Louis rescuers.
When she found him and went to his side, the rescuer noticed that the dog became very frightened, so she gave him some space and spoke to him calmly to try to calm him down.
It still never stopped him from coming so close and closer so she eventually tried. He was still so uncomfortable around her.
She observed that he had a new bowl of food and water there, so someone had been looking after him for a little while before she turned up.
And it truly shows that there are good individuals out there and it is good to witness they aided this unfortunate doggy.
But the woman did give him a tiny bit of food to help him trust her and he took it and munched down happily.
A Small Gesture Of Kindness
Then, just shortly thereafter, the dog got off his little patch and walked over to his savior.
And, because of this, they needed to get the fuck out of there, and it was a hot day, which meant he must’ve been freezing, which meant they had to book it.
Which only happened after a few cuddles with the woman, when he finally realized her intentions were pure, and she just wanted to get him to safety.
She drove the dog into her vehicle and returned with him to the St. Louis shelter where he could be cared for.
Having demonstrated that he was a perfectly healthy pup, next step was to find him a foster home and maybe a new family shortly after.
Though we know nothing of this lousy dog’s fate, we highly suspect he has since moved into a warm house with the people who care about her.
