On the empty corners of the street where stray canines roam, they seek to find a connection and a smile from strangers they see each everyday.
They would do anything to discover their pawrents and adore them to bits.
Dolly was one of many vagabond pups who were starlight — all heart, but no heart to give it to.
Then one day fate brought her to the Dollar General in Auburndale, Florida. The stray pup came into the store and began to bounce around excitedly as if she knew something special was about to happen.
Fateful Encounter
On that same day, a man came into the store named Ray. Little did he know that his dog in the {best} {best} { the clerk of the merchant a} mentioned to assist him to result in the runaway {animal} is a stray {animal} was running within the aisles.
Ray’s heart melted the moment he saw the little fluffy dude shaking his furry tail and smiling to all of us.
He stroked the kind little dog and picked her up.
He phoned Animal Control and told them there was a stray dog. Because the Animal Control wouldn’t be able to come and get her that day, the officers asked Ray if he wanted to keep her over night until they could pick her up the next day.
Ray thought it was a great idea and so did the dog, which was later named Dolly. When they went back to his house, she kissed him over and over.
Every time Ray visited, Dolly adored him.
When Ray was watching Netflix with Dolly, this felt like home for her.

And then she crawled up on my shoulder and she just sighed like, “I am over this. Ray explained to The Dodo, “‘I am tired, I am home.
Ray gazed upon her at that exact moment and he simply knew that he would wish to hang on to her forever.
Ray, who took the call from Animal Control, said if Dolly did not have owners looking for her, he wanted to adopt her.
Dolly Goes To A Shelter
Ray got somewhat of a heartbreak when he realized Dolly would have to be placed into a shelter in Polk County, Florida, before being processed.
Dolly also did not want to miss Ray. She wanted to go back home with him and spend some time together.
Ray was hoping to adopt Dolly a week later if no one else claimed her after discovering she wasn’t microchipped.

Dolly languished in the system for weeks however after the shelter took in over a hundred dogs from a Pet hoarding case.
Ray also missed Dolly, so he went to see her every other day. Dolly was sad every time Ray went out without her.
They progressed, with Holler stating: “You can see she was just so sad. When I left, I saw her ears drop. I was like, ‘Aw.’ I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” Ray added.
The Happiest Day
Then came the day Ray visited Dolly and got the best news ever. Finally able to take Dolly home with him.
The puppy emerged from the adoptive house, jumped into her daddy’s hands, smeared its smaller flooring pet kisses all over his face.
January 1st 2014 Dollys and Rays life together got underway!
When they got home Dolly was so excited she always did zoomies on the bed.

Ray and Dolly were practically inseparable, with the pooch excited to follow her dad everywhere he went.
The loving pup blended into Ray’s life as seamlessly as he had hoped.
On the topic of her family home, Chantal says: “She seems like she has always been here. It’s crazy,” Ray said.
Dolly couldn’t stop smiling. She finally had the dad she had always wanted, and she showered him with all the love she had.
