All puppies need their mama, and without her pure love and care, they are unable to develop and grow into blissful pups.
Unfortunately, not every puppy is so lucky as to have their puppyhood next to their mom and all her love.
One of those furbabies, Koby, a Pit Bull mix puppy, was separated from his mom when he needed her the most.
Koby and his littermates were left in front of the South Carolina shelter by their breeders, who couldn’t use them because they weren’t pure Pit Bulls.
The baby bro or babe would have wanted to be cuddled up next to their mama, and yet they were crammed into a cardboard box, and waiting for someone to show them kindness and affection.
A New Life
As soon as the puppies were found, the shelter staff took them in.
The fur babies were at the kill shelter and are now in a nonprofit animal rescue (Ollie’s Angels Animal Rescue) in New York state.
It was 2021, and newlyweds Steven and Jessica came to the rescue looking to bring home a new dog.
Immediately upon meeting a tan Pit Bull puppy named Koby (first photo below), their hearts melted.
Koby knew he belonged with Steven and Jessica when they first held him.
Steven told GeoBeats Animals, “The first time we were able to hold him, he just melted in our arms.
The same day, they brought him to his new home with the couple.
He [Koby] needed to assimilate into his new life. For the first few nights, the wee pup had trouble sleeping.
Wanting to ease his tension, his parent91adorable parents purchased him a plush toy that is warm and heart beats. It worked. That is when Koby enjoyed the toy, and he was okay again.
The dog is pure love. He loves sitting on his dad’s lap and cuddling with him on the couch.
Steven was unaware of how much pit bulls cuddle with their humans before Koby came into their lives.
Koby received his love from Steven and Jessica, and they raised him as if he was their son.
Hank, the puppy, loves hanging out with his parents, and he gets upset when he has to stay behind.
His parents were always able to look into his eyes and read him like a book.
It’s, in a sense, like seeing a person. You can see the eye is the window to the soul. Jessica added, “You just know exactly what he’s feeling through his eyes.” GeoBeats Animals.
Koby Adores His Parents
Steven and Jessica discovered how Koby was impacted from being separated from his mom at such a young age. He wanted her, her warmth, her love.
Koby does not know any other love than that which he gives to his people.
While his human mom was pregnant, that sweet doggo was extremely overprotective. He was never too far, always near, always checking that everything was OK.
He would frequently put his head on momma’s bump.
Koby loves his mom, but his favorite person is actually his dad. A gentle giant perched on the sofa, watching the window, awaiting his pops home from work.
Koby bolts to his dad as soon as he gets home and runs in circles, giving high-fives, hugs, kisses, and whatever he can muster!
Steven goes as far to state Koby has become like a son to him. He adores the fact that whenever he walks into the house, Koby always gives him a proper welcome. He and his wife cannot picture their life without their boi.
He occasionally shares glimpses of his life with his family on Instagram. His Human Sister made him a big brother to a fur-sibling. He is protective of her and loves her very much.
