Back in September, a Redditor shared a video of his dogs comforting their anxious dogbro.
The video features ‘Huxley’ and his two mates, a pug dog and a white, deaf dog named ‘Winnie,’ attempting to nurse Rex (English/French Mastiff mix), their big brother.
Rex anxiously engages in behavior and breezed through hell growing up with several torturous owners.
From Abusive Owners to Loving Pals
For example, research at the University of Helsinki has shown that in Finland, dogs are especially vulnerable to diverse anxiety-like traits, especially if those dogs have been abused as puppies.
When examining the survey results, they discovered that 72.5% of the 13,715 pet dogs from Finland that participated in this study showed anxiety-like behavior.

Mr Rex was abused as a puppy by his previous owners, according to his father. He is, in fact, the fourth owner of Rex, who obtained the dog when Rex was 1.5 years old.
His second owners abused him and even put a shock collar on him, which is why he is afraid of screaming, loud sounds, brooms, clapping, etc. They even tried to put him down for his “aggressive behavior”.
Sadly, Rex began resource guarding, fearing and acting aggressively due to the trauma with his second owners, and this is why he did not fit in with the third family, although they wanted to help Rex.

He ended up with his current owner, who has spent the last 2.5 years attempting to rehabilitate him. He has made tremendous progress since first arriving into the family, and we can tell he has moved very very far.
While he still exhibits some anxious behaviours, Rex in the present can be around all of his other fur-siblings and hooman siblings.
The owner told Newsweek: “With anxiety, the dog typically does not want to be near what it is afraid of and will do everything to escape the situation as quickly as possible.” – He was my first post divorce dog, and I was single when I got him, so we remained really dependent on each other.

Bound By Love
As you could see in the video, those other two dogs just loved Rex. As soon as they know he is nervous, they run and try to shower him with kisses.
However, as the owner tells it, the story goes much deeper.
Huxley (a Shih Tzu) is a social butterfly who really has no fear of anything, so he is just happy to be in the way and also part of this joyous loving family.
But Winnie (the white dog) is deaf, so in a way it’s Winnie who depends on Rex. They are extremely bound, and she follows him everywhere.
Rex is very much a talker, and will sometimes growl when he feels scared (not aggressive growling), but Winnie cannot hear Rex – so she accepts him as he is and loves him.

Rex knows her and her “handicap” well enough to even assist her. She basically leans on him to be her ears and even give her a bit of recap.
In fact, Rex has really come into his own when it came to his amazing recovery thanks to Winnie and Huxley.
This one of a kind trio, and their abundance of love, have melted countless hearts on the internet, earning nearly 21K upvotes on Reddit.
The words, “I cannot tell you how this information brings me joy.” Currently, some of my favorite people are Winnie, Rex, and Huxley. As for those dogs, they just thought they were awesome, too. “Hey, you are great, too, for taking these wonderful dogs in to give them a happy home,” one Redditor said.
It warms my heart knowing after all he went through, Rex hit the jackpot with the best family and owner and best doggie sibling that he could ever ask for!
The owner said, “I’ve always said I have one of the coolest dogs ever.”
