Some dogs really make the truism that dogs are man’s best friend real
And, that someone is most certainly Moose!
This remarkable German Shepherd stunned the planet with the singular most altruistic display in such a unique way manner and it was all for his little hooman brother.
Moose is not a certified therapy dog, but he is a great example of how intuitive and smart dogs really are! Here’s why!
A Lifelong Bond
Moose was adopted in 2022 from Texas when he was a puppy into the Carpio family in Oklahoma. So when he got home to the new place they never imagined Moose would play such an integral part of their lives.
They already had a German Shepherd named Chomper so having another dog was out of the question.
However, Lauren simply couldn’t resist when she spotted a post on Facebook about Moose being available for adoption. It was close to her birthday, and Moose seemed like the ideal gift. So, it happened!
Moose was welcomed with open arms by the whole family. The kids were just as excited to have a new sibling, and Chomper was so happy about having one, he showed it off! But when Moose first saw Noah, he felt he was drawn to his little brother before anyone else ever could.
Moose had never had any formal dog/training, but instantly knew that his little hooman needed 32° more protection. Seven-year-old Noah suffers from congenital heart defects that required multiple surgeries, and later developed seizures.
Noah’s mum and dad Lauren and Josh had a camera fitted in Noah’s bedroom to allow them to see if he has a seizure but what they didn’t realise was there was an additional set of eyes keeping watch over their little boy.
Moose – The Protector of the Family
Lauren checked on Noah via the camera one night when she caught a glimpse of this littlest angel! And Moose sneaking into Noah’s room to check on him already.
And then he slowly walked over to Noahs bed, glanced at his little hooman buddy and gave him the sweetest kiss on the face. The rest of the night, Moose slept at Noahs bedside to be there if his brother needed him.
Since then, Moose would sneak into Noah room every night.
Moose often pops in to see him and give him kisses. Other times I get lucky and am looking at the camera at just the right seconds to exactly capture this cuteness, you know?? ” – Lauren
Not only does he look into Noah when hes asleep. There should be parking for a giant-hearted German Shepherd boi who is on call 24/7 and never leaves Noah’s side.
He becomes extra vigilant when his little hooman is feeling unwell and sticks to him all the time. He checks on him again and again, licking his face big few mins just to assure that he is there with him.
Lauren and the family are loving having Moose as part of their family.
You can tell me all day long that this dog is not a therapy/service dog, but look at those pictures and you can’t convince me he doesn’t have a special bond with my son. Lauren wrote on Dogspotting Society, “He brings us so much enjoyment and laughter every day.”
Even if he can be silly and stubborn, the fact that he behaves like Noah’s body guard is precious to them.
He is one of a kind and another fine example of just how wonderful the hooman-dog bond can be!
