When Good Samaritans spotted a pup sitting in a cardboard box inside a landfill, it was shocking to know that someone would dispose of her in such a cruel way.
They called animal rescuers, who quickly arrived but were very upset to notice the dog remained unmoving in the box. She kept sitting in it as if she was still waiting for her previous owners to come back for her.
Realizing that she had been there for at least three days, the rescue team noticed that they were missing something.
Finally Safe
The puppy was in deplorable shape. Her hair was gone, her skin was thick and in some places covered in open necks which were never treated
One further distressing feature was that her eyes were virtually closed and glued shut. When the rescuers gently opened them, they saw that they were very red and unresponsive.
Realizing that the pup needed urgent medical attention, the sweet hoomans took the pup to the vet, where she was examined thoroughly.
When the vets saw her in the condition she was in, they were heartbroken to find that she was almost entirely blind and suffered from advanced otitis media – an infection of the middle ear.
Her head and legs were massively swollen, and her reproductive organ was swollen as well.
The humans were to give her all the meds, but first of all, they fed her a yummy meal to make her hungry tummy full.
This made her so happy that she cleaned the whole bowl in record time.
Unfortunate News
When all the tests showed up, the medical staff was heartbroken to see that this pup had had a lot of litter, which concluded that she had been used for breeding and dumped when she no longer was needed.
Everyone on the veterinary staff was heartbroken. But they figured that they were going to give this beautiful girl the best and sweetest of treatment to help lift her spirits and make her happy.
They took her for eye surgery first and had to wait until she was healed from that before treating her very rough skin.
The pup was ecstatic once she understood that she was finally getting the help she needed. She would greet passing visitors with the cutest tail wag of all time.
In such a loving environment, it didn’t take her long to start showing clear signs of recovery.
The scabies disappeared, her face was no longer swollen, and, perhaps most important, she had her sight back.
It was at this moment that the sweet girl was elated to finally see the compassionate faces of the humans who had given her a second chance at life.
New Life
Her rescuers were not surprised when what turned out to be a loving family 100 percent fell in love with her and wanted to take her back to their family as their little four-legged furry ‘baby.’
When they first met, they clicked like they had seen each other before,
The loving hoomans brought her home, and they named her Sofi, and she started her brand new life.
And now, Sofi lives in a big, warm family with humans that love her more than anything and a doggo sibling she shares the love of the Hoomans with.
Final Word
Sofi must not be dumped at the landfill!
Humans tend to forget that dogs are sensitive, too, and that they can also be very sad and depressed, anxious, and even violent if one treats them badly.
If you can no longer keep your dog, for whatever reason, please bring them to your local shelter and give them an opportunity to have a home — you owe them that at least.
