Mama dogs are known far and wide for how much they are willing to do for their children. It is incredible how determined they are to heal their children.
This is why it’s so sad that so many of them are suffering in terrible conditions, struggling to find basic things like food and water to feed their babies.
In this story, we will speak about a mama dog who was desperate and pleading with strangers to save her puppies.
A Desperate Call For Help
Rescuers were called in to help a pregnant dog, but they knew there was no time to waste once they were alerted about the strays living on the streets.
They traveled out there and attempted to search for the frightened pooch, but what happened next shocked them.
She had just had her puppies and was attempting to defend them. When her rescuers attempted to reach her, she grew very agitated and was unsure whether they were harmful.
So they returned to their car for some treats and then turned around to feed the dog. She was very resistant but ended up taking it as she was starving.
They finally got to see the puppies. They appeared to be struggling and required assistance right away.
At the same time, the rescuers tried to pet the mama dog to let her know they were only there to help her and the babies.
When they did, they noticed a small leash around her neck, meaning she likely once belonged to someone, but was dumped.
A Tragedy And A New Hope
Once she calmed down, they removed her from the puppies so they could attempt to help them.
When she saw her babies in horrible conditions, she began licking them and stared at the humans as if asking them to help.
The rescuers then reached on a dark point, when they discovered that four of the five puppies had died, and the only one had survived barely,
Their mom was clearly upset, trying to wake them up, but it wasn’t working.
It made the rescuers very sad that they couldn’t do anything to help. They came with the mama dog and the puppies in tow, even though they knew it was over.
They buried the four babies after bringing them to a shelter and did whatever they could do to help the mom and her last surviving baby.
They weren’t well, but they were recovering slowly, and things seemed to be getting better finally.
The following day, the rescuers received two orphaned puppies who just lost their mother and needed to be cared for. They were taken to the mama dog, hoping she would take care of them.
She was a little confused at first but readily accepted and nursed them back to health like the hero dog she is.
We don’t know what happened to the puppies, but it will be some time before they’re old enough to be adopted, and you can be sure they’ll find a home.
