And if there is one thing that ALL dogs are afraid of, it’s being abandoned. Its such a traumatic experience that stays with them for life.
However, the moment they understand that it can happen again, many people find it steadies hard to trust another person. This is truly horrible.
As for this sweet little pup, he was dumped by an uncaring owner on the side of a street with nothing but a filthy shirt to rest on.
Other people would see the dog present but just not acknowledge him at all until a lovely rescuer eventually set him free.
A Kind Rescuer
It was in such a rush to rescue the pup. That pup looked so injured when he reached where he was going. And he realised that he was forsaken.
For three days, he simply sat by the roadside, waiting for his human to return for him, but nobody did.
The rescuer then gently picked the dog up and put him in his vehicle. He began to cry because he refused to leave his area. Part of him, I suppose, was still waiting to see his owner again.
They then drove for an hour to the nearest vet clinic, where the puppy was given a full check-up.
The results were just staggering. A fractured pelvis, broken front legs, and broken jaw. He was suffering from dehydration and starvation.
The vets did further examinations to determine how to move forward treatment-wise. They started him on IV fluids and shaved his legs.
An Important Surgery
A significant operation on his jaws and legs was the following step. He wasn’t strong enough for that yet, so they dosed him with painkillers instead, hoping it would calm him.
One of his legs started losing feeling, which is not a good thing. This poor dog was in so much pain she couldn’t sleep.
His injuries floored them and as everyone googled the question of ‘how did he get them? He was likely beaten with a large stick, according to the rescuers.
They could not afford to be thinking about that now, though, for no one could find out who had done it yet. His time for surgery came.
It would take him two surgeries for his legs and jaw. The three-hour procedures were successful, the vets said, but they did not want to speculate on his recovery yet.
They devoted all their time trying to save the pup who would have his temperature rising during the night.
A New Hope For Snoopy
A few days later, they found his jaw was healing, but they feared one leg would never have sensation again. This was scary as it was supposed to be corrected from the surgery.
The vets carried out various checks and made a very sad discovery. He probably would not be able to save his leg because they were too late.
They had to cut it off to stop the dog from suffering anymore. This was tragic news, but ultimately, what they had to do.
The owner was tracked down by authorities. They learned that the name of the dog was Snoopy. His owner was a bum and an alcoholic, and he neglected his dog, and he will pay for that!
The vets went ahead and amputated his leg. He would go on to make a full recovery; now, he just needed a home.
Well, the rescuer then adopted him and raised him. Most importantly, Snoopy adored his new father and fellow dog sibling. It was only after everything that happened that it was good to see he got a fresh start. He deserves it.
