While walking through their neighbourhood, a couple of rescuers came across something strange sticking out from the ground, inside a hole.
At first it appeared to be a small brown ball but upon getting closer they saw that it was a puppy and one eye opened.
They called out for him to see that his body was not budging. Their hearts sank.
He was so tired that his tail barely wagged. All he could do was blink, a mute cry for rescue.
A Heartbreaking Discovery
Upon examining the case, the rescuers found out this little one has been dumped and left there by his owner.
They were heartbroken and took him to the vet.
As the warmth of Linkee and Brendon’s hands reached him, however, the pup — who was named Angel — started to move as if he were telling them that he needed to fight for his life.
As soon as he arrived at the vet, the team began his treatment. This was followed by a warm bath, which lulled him to relax, and then a full check-up.
They immediately started him on the medications when his test results returned.
Signs of Hope
Well, three days later a miracle occurred.
Angel started to improve at this point! When he stood on his own for the first time, the vet staff were overjoyed.
Within days, a pup that couldn’t walk was up on his own two feet!!

By the time it got to day seven though, Angel had hit another milestone. He started to self-feed — wolfing down every meal in ninja speed!
For some, this step might not seem like much but for Angel and his caregivers it was a massive step towards recovery.
A New Beginning
Two weeks later, Angel was a total different person.
He turned into a sturdy little man hell bent on living life. Soon, he landed in the loving arms of a foster mom who lost her heart to him.
Her mission? To give Angel a place where she can flourish and realize how great life really is.
So with lots of furry siblings, Angel became strong and brave all over again.

“When the right time comes, this sweet boy is going to have a home of his own and a family who will appreciate him as he was meant to be appreciated!”
Angel is now in a new foster home, where he immediately became a family member.
And when he unfurled the potential within those four-footed legs, leaped and capered about, there was more spirit than playfulness in all of it; a major component of the ecstatic behavior was simply exuberance incitement culminating from not exploring every nook and cranny of this new space.
Other dogs took him under their paws, and showed him how to play, and not just exist.
Every day was an adventure with her, whether it was the toy she chased or writing this column while snuggled up on my lap for hours at a time next to a sunbeam.
So beautiful, the metamorphosis Angel was making; alive, not just surviving.
She provided him with the correct food, soft blankets, and tons of affection.
We celebrated every minor win — a wag there, a bark here. Angel was getting stronger by the day, also more confident.

From being abandoned to getting repaired his story became the story of hope and determination.
He liked his foster family, but everyone was aware that someday soon he would find a permanent home.
