“The dogs appeared weak, one with flesh scabs, appearing to not have eaten in several days and living in what investigating deputies reported as deplorable conditions,” the post stated.
The sight of these emaciated animals must have been genuinely heart-wrenching for the responding officers.
The NPSO Animal Services Unit was promptly called to the scene to rescue the dogs and provide necessary care.
They were taken for evaluation while deputies launched an investigation to locate the owner.

“Alvin J. Metoyer, 47, of the 100 block of Pecan Court Drive, Natchitoches was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with 2-Counts of Cruelty to Animals,” the post read.
Metoyer remains in custody with a bond set at $20,000 by a 10th Judicial District Judge.
