When shelter dogs first enter their little kennels, they are already dreaming about finding humans who can provide them with the joys of life – love.
Pit Bull Terrier Steven Tyler started believing in his wildest dream after a Good Samaritan found him wandering the grounds of a high school and alerted authorities to come, according to Today.
Needless to say, Steven Tyler (he was sad when adopted but still a little shy about his new name) quickly became the shelter’s favorite pup – though he was really shy and unsure after arriving at medanimal.org in Sacramento, California.
The heart of the dog was shining bright with hope as he knew he would finally find loving humans who would adore him as much as his beautiful, loving soul deserved!
Longing For Love
Steven Tyler began spending hours gazing out his kennel window, resting his chin on the sill. He stared at you with longing eyes and waited for a person to give him a shot.
Fast forward a few months, and the dog was still where he had always been.
The doggo received no attention, but that didn’t stop him from trying. He had no doubt in his dream of bringing his greatest dream to life.
Steven Tyler had a heart full of love when Young wasn’t hanging out at the window. The pooch was snuggled up with his best dog friend, kennel mate, and fellow rescuer, Helga Hufflepup.
Shelter staff fell in love with his kind nature and wondered why this dog had not been adopted.
It broke their hearts as nobody would notice the attempts made by doggo to find a new forever home.
His human companions realized it was time to help him out.
They shared an emotional video of Steven Tyler on their social media where the dog sits and watches out his window waiting for his forever humans to arrive.
“”We thought if we could get more viewers to see what we were seeing, that someone would fall in love with him just as we did,’ Sacramento County Animal Care Services/Bradshaw Animal Shelter public information officer Luna Anona told PEOPLE.
The video won over the hearts of thousands on the shelter’s social media channels, and people began cheering for Steven Tyler to find his forever home.
A Dog Finally Has Its Heart Desires Fulfilled
An incredible family who saw the tragic post fell head over heels for the sweet little pup. On the same day that video went viral, they came to the shelter and adopted Steven Tyler .

The humans for whom he had waited found him, and he knew it.
The pup left the shelter smiling confidently, having just bid farewell to the loving volunteers there.
This turned to yet another adoption when Steven Tyler gained internet fame.
When a lovely lady visited the shelter to give him a home, she kindly adopted his best friend Helga Hufflepup instead, having seen he had already found his forever home.
However, even once Steven Tyler moved into his forever home, he and his little humans had a special bond (as do his furry sisters, Daisy and Tahoe). He enjoys snuggling up with them and soaking in all their love.
His family is overjoyed to have him in their lives.
“He’s a gem. He was best friends with our dog within 5 minutes, and he is SO great with the kiddos! He is kind and cuddly, and it seems like he has always been there. The family sent an update to the shelter, saying he is “a perfect fit for our family,” and shared the shelter on Facebook.
The delightful doggo, who he had renamed Donner, is living his best life.
It is so sweet and heartwarming to see Donner and his furry sisters getting up to the everyday antics of life on their Instagram.
