Upon arriving, she found Goldie right where everyone said she’d be—by the porch, looking lost and scared. As Suzette approached, Goldie began to growl, her fear manifesting as defensiveness.
Speaking softly, Suzette tried to soothe the anxious pup. But when she momentarily turned away to grab her rescue gear, something unexpected happened. Goldie let out a soft whimper, stood up on her hind legs, and looked at Suzette with pleading eyes as if to say, “Please don’t leave me.”
