It was a fate that changed Bobby’s life for ever when his family dropped him off at a shelter in Los Angeles, California.
Rather than appreciating the cozy hospitality of a home, the doggo was instead at the shelter in a tiny kennel, perched on solid cold cement.
Even though to Bobby the only one thing that can bring him down is the loss of his family, Bobby got stronger through the purity of the sadness
He was the sweetest, cuddliest boy who was obsessed with belly rubs. He was their favorite dog, and the shelter staff loved him!
However, potential adopters simply did not see the special dog Bobby was. He wanted to be loved whole, yet he remained unturned.
But after a year in the shelter, Bobby ended up on a euthanasia list.
Saving Bobby’s Life
Bobby’s buddies in the shelter took it hard. They couldn’t face the fact they were losing their boi.
Little did he know he was scheduled to be euthanized in two weeks; the ten year old dog still held out hope for a better tomorrow.
So many good humans networked the sweet dog — luckily the shelter staff and volunteers were praying he would get a chance to start over.
In December 2013, Shira Scott Astrof, founder of The Animal Rescue Mission in West Hollywood, California, learned about the doggo when someone forwarded her a link to his tragic tale.
The moment Astrof heard he was set to be euthanized, she raced to the shelter to meet him.
And when Bobby laid eyes on his rescuer, he was immediately attracted to her and knew she would save him.
Astrof fell for the doggo right away.
From the moment I met him, I felt like he knew I was there for him. For an instant, this was Mr. A, Astrof told GeoBeats Animals. “He was sprawled on his back with his belly getting rubbed, and I just fell in love with him immediately.
She told him he was safe, that nothing bad was going to happen to him.
This kind of rescuer went out a few times to check on the dog. She thought Bobby had made the list because of his status as a safety Katerina.
And she could see firsthand there was nothing wrong with his behavior.
In fact, the opposite was true, and everybody adored him as he was a proper darling with an eye out for as many hugs as possible.
Astrof discovered an eager foster for the sweetheart and sprung him from the shelter.
The Sweet Dog Enjoys His Freedom
Bobby was all smiles and tail-wags after he was officially freed.
His savior gave him a kiss, vowing him all of the love he deserved.
Bobby had become overweight because he ate plenty at the shelter and then sat around most of the day.
The dog took on a new life after he got free. He began to exercise and reached a healthy weight.
Bobby is happy living with his foster mom and receiving tons of love. Fetching, sleeping, and belly rubs are his favorite pastime activities.
The dog GO lights up every room he enters. He thanks God to be alive here today.
“He lives in the moment. He love people for no real reason at all except he does. He teaches us how we should be, you know, every second he has, he’s so grateful, and I think that relates to a lot of people,” Astrof continued.
The rescuer is saddened that Bobby did not have any adoption interest but believes the right family will come along.
That affectionate pup keeps looking out for a human to give him a chance to prove that he truly can be the loveliest little buddy! He is so looking forward to showering his forever family with all of his unconditional love.
