Zoe just wanted to be loved.
Yet, on that horrible day, she was shown cruelty instead of love.
Her owners, wanting to get rid of her, took Zoe deep into the woods, far from anyone who might hear her cries. To make sure she couldn’t follow them back, they tied her to a tree and left her there—for good.
Alone and scared in the unfamiliar forest as night fell, Zoe had nothing to do but wait… and hope.
Who Could Be So Cruel
Just when Zoe thought all hope was lost, someone happened to come across her. Horrified by what they saw, they sprang into action. They contacted Kola Kariola, a local rescue specializing in saving stray and abandoned animals.
“An enlightened mind found the ‘best’ way to get rid of the dog. He probably thought that tying her to a tree was better than leaving her free,” KK wrote on Instagram.

Within hours, the rescue team arrived, ready to give Zoe what she had been longing for all along—hope.
When they first saw her, Zoe looked utterly defeated. She had nothing but a rope tied around her neck—no food, no water in sight.
But things didn’t go as smoothly as they had hoped.
Zoe was deeply traumatized and didn’t trust anyone. As the rescuers tried to untie her, she barked and growled, trying to scare these strangers away.
However, with a little patience and the use of a catchpole, the volunteers eventually succeeded. Zoe was finally ready to leave the spot that had terrified her to the bone.
They gently placed her in the car and headed to the rescue facility, though she didn’t yet realize that her rough past was now behind her.
Zoe Is Nothing But The Sweetest Lovebug
In just a few weeks, this sweet girl began to understand that she was safe at last.
Everyone on the team, including her vets, showered her with love on a daily basis—and Zoe soon came out of her shell. Underneath her fearful demeanor was the sweetest lovebug, a dog that craved nothing but love and cuddles!
“She is gentle, kind and cheerful, ready to give her best,” the rescue added.
She quickly adjusted to life at the rescue, meeting new friends who had shared the same destiny.
After countless nose kisses and tasty meals, Zoe became a whole new dog. She miraculously transformed after such a traumatic ordeal, and her caregivers were overjoyed. Seeing her practically reborn was a gift that no amount of money could replace!
“Zoe is living proof that miracles do happen. She is a puppy who truly deserves a second chance,” the rescue wrote on Instagram.
Now, Zoe is in the process of finding a forever home. She hopes to find a family that will give her everything she missed out on before. But most importantly, she needs someone who will stick with her through good times and bad.
That’s why her team is determined to place Zoe with a family who would never, ever abandon her.
Until then, she’s happy to enjoy daily beach visits and lots of playtime with her shelter buddies!
