You may not realize not every pup knows where the next meal is coming from.
While we hear all kinds of sad stories about abandonment, thousands of dogs begin each day searching for at least a crumb of sustenance to help keep them alive.
That is how Saka’s story started.
He was left on the side of the lane when he was no more than two weeks old. He wandered around alone, too scared and hungry to be quiet, crying so loudly that finally, someone came to hear his cries.
He Struggled To Survive
An illegal dog rescuer, who had been a lifelong cyclist. He has rescued many a pup on his adventures, but two stole his heart.
Since a bike was not the right kind of vehicle for life-saving types of adventures, Damien switched it out for a van. Little did he know, however, that there was one more puppy to come — AND that puppy was Saka!
On his daily dog walk, he and his two charges saw a tiny tuft of fur in the path ahead of them. Upon further inspection, he noticed it was actually a puppy.
Walking was a whole point of contention for Saka, how, after all, can you take this little furball seriously when he wobbled around like he just got a bit too sloshed on the milk? He took just a handful of steps towards the man, weeping hysterically and pleading for a hand.
Hours of gnawing at the unknown were quickly replaced by hunger, and it was yer pull it all and trust a human. Well – this plea was heard – LOUD AND CLEAR!
Here Comes The First Meal
Saka had the man doing it Pennsylvania-style in no time flat. Instantly, he knew this lil boi hadn’t eaten in a few days. This guy took milk and a bit of dry food from his van, and Saka was in heaven. He immediately inhaled an entire bowl.
Before he knew it, he was hopping in the van and spending the night with his new crew. Tired and worn out, he immediately fell asleep right next to his new friends.
He knew he couldn’t leave Saka stranded in the middle of nowhere, and frankly he didn’t want to. This stunning pup was the one to steal his heart from day one — so he decided to keep him for good!
Saka was then taken for a vet examination the following morning. In addition to being malnourished, he had mites that caused all but a small patch of his fur to fall out.
Saka spent two months at his new home, continuing his drugs and recovering from the disease. But in the meantime, he was learning to dog with his new fur siblings.
As it turns out, he did fucking great — much to everyone excited chagrin.
With his hooman rescuer and his set of two doggo buddies, he became a full-fledged lovebug.
Saka was loving life. He was ready to learn and play — and even if he wasn’t well healed, he couldn’t wait for his newest adventure.
Saka’s Home is Not Only IN the House.
Two-and-a-half months was all it took for Saka to transform into a completely different dog. So the fur grew back, but in a trendy way, and he was back to face the world, all paws and heart wide open!
Oh, and his trips were filled with meeting all these really cool people!
Saka and his family’s home, however, is not merely one house, but virtually wherever in the world they happen to be.
Their van outfits them for many epic road trips and wonderful places nearby, ensuring their presence is felt and that they are adding to the memories of a lifetime.
Saka soon got a new lease on life and is now a full-time adventure dog, a lover, and a sidekick, all thanks to the man who gave him another chance. Except that he is a peak dog!
