Helping stray animals isn’t easy, but many rescuers dedicate themselves to caring for the dogs and cats wandering the streets.
When shelters are full and can’t take in new rescues, rescuers make sure these animals get food, care, and a bit of love.
In emergencies, they do whatever it takes to help animals in need survive.
A Chance Encounter in Texas
While working on the streets of Texas, Kristin, a dedicated rescuer, came across two sweet dogs in desperate need.
She had been alerted about a pack of sick dogs, but by the time she and her volunteers arrived, two of them had tragically passed away.
Determined to save the others, Kristin spotted the two remaining dogs hiding under a house.
Watch this incredible story here:
The dogs were initially scared, but Kristin’s gentle approach slowly gained their trust.
Gaining Trust and Offering Love
The rescuers soothed the frightened dogs with gentle pets, helping them feel safe.
Once the dogs sensed these people meant no harm, they happily let Kristin take them to safety in her car.
Their wagging tails showed how relieved and excited they were to finally be in caring hands.
These dogs had spent their lives in survival mode, and this was the first time they felt a sense of safety.
No Animal Shelters, No Problem
In that part of Texas, there weren’t enough shelters to take the dogs in, so Kristin knew she had to care for them herself.

With over a decade of experience in rescuing animals, Kristin was confident she could give them the love and care they desperately needed.
She didn’t just see them as strays—Kristin knew these dogs deserved a second chance at life.
A New Chapter for Ron and Ginny
At her home, Kristin provided the dogs with medical care and named them Ron and Ginny Weasley.
It was their first time experiencing love, warmth, and safety—and they soaked it all in.

Though it was a new experience, Ron and Ginny quickly adjusted to life in Kristin’s home.
It was clear they adored her for rescuing them, always showing affection and trust.
Kristin was happy to foster them, saying they were two of the sweetest dogs she had ever met.
Finding Forever Homes
Once they were healthy and ready, Kristin reached out to Gals Best Pal Rescue Mission in Massachusetts to help find them permanent homes.
Ron found his forever family first, and under their care, he transformed into a happy, well-loved dog.
Ginny, however, needed more time due to her heartworm treatment, which lasted four months.
Kristin never gave up, and with the help of Misfit Mutts Dog Rescue in Wisconsin, she found Ginny a loving family.
Happily Ever After
What started as a tragic discovery ended in joy as both dogs found their forever homes.
Ron and Ginny now live happy, healthy lives surrounded by families who adore them.

Their story is a beautiful reminder that every animal deserves love and kindness, no matter how difficult their past.
Thanks to Kristin’s dedication, these two dogs got the chance to experience a life filled with happiness and care.
