Steve is the ultimate ideal pet, his silliness all while showing others just how soft and loving he can be. Yet one day was different from the others and it left Meghan with her anxiety spinning out of control.
The Velcro Incident
Four years ago today, Meghan and Steve started out one of their initial road trips to Colorado. Steve, who usually sits up during car trips, lay motionless on the carpet. Meghan was confused and worried until she remembered the important part.

Steve just lay there on the floor for hours, Andrew recalls as they drove back to Colorado. I had to put this life jacket on Steve, because he’s too small for his harness, it has this fake strong velcro.
