We all have fears, big or small. Some people get dizzy just thinking about heights, while others tense up at the sight of a dog.
But one of the most common fears is being afraid of the dark—the unsettling thought that something might creep up on you when you can’t see. It’s the reason many of us sleep with nightlights or leave a door cracked open.
Sometimes, what we imagine lurking in the dark turns out to be far scarier in our minds than in reality. Other times, though, the situation is so strange it becomes a funny story to share.
A Spooky Surprise
One night, a woman settled into her bed, ready for some well-deserved rest after a long day. The night felt normal—nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and she drifted off peacefully.

In the middle of the night, something woke her up. Not wanting to disturb anyone, she tiptoed her way to the bathroom, still half-asleep. All she could think about was getting back under her cozy blanket and drifting off again.
But as she turned her head from the bathroom back toward her bed, she froze in place. Right there, at the top of her bed, were two glowing eyes staring directly at her—just like a scene from a horror movie.
From Terror to Relief
At first, panic set in, and she felt her heart race. She managed to hold back a scream, even though every instinct told her to run. Trying to stay calm, she leaned in closer to make sense of the eerie sight.
It only took a moment before everything clicked, and she let out a huge sigh of relief.
The glowing eyes belonged to her sweet little dog, Harami, who had quietly climbed onto her bed and was now watching her with innocent curiosity. This adorable Chihuahua-Shih Tzu mix had unknowingly become the source of her midnight fright.
A Phone Light and a Mischievous Pup
“At the time, my phone was on my pillow,” Harami’s mom explained to The Dodo. “When I went to the bathroom, she climbed on my pillow and the phone lit up.”

This small, innocent act had caused the whole misunderstanding. What could have been a moment of terror became a comical, heartwarming memory that she’d likely never forget. Harami wasn’t trying to scare anyone—she was just following her mom, as she always did.
The Cutest Scare Ever
Even though the scare nearly gave her mom a heart attack, it was impossible to stay mad at Harami. The little dog had no clue she’d startled anyone, and in the end, her mom couldn’t help but laugh at the whole thing.
“I found it so cute that I laughed,” her mom said. “Harami loves me and wags her tail happily when I laugh. She’s a treasure.”
Even if Harami had wanted to play a prank, her adorable face made it impossible to be upset. Her mom was, after all, completely smitten with her furry companion.
“For me, she’s my beloved child,” Harami’s mom added. “Harami always sleeps in bed with Mom and Dad.”
A Guardian Angel in the Night
This funny encounter only strengthened the bond between Harami and her mom. From now on, her mom won’t have to worry about being afraid of the dark. If she ever sees those glowing eyes again, she’ll know it’s just her loyal little guardian angel watching over her.
With Harami around, her mom knows she’s never alone, even in the dead of night. The little dog, with her sweet personality and mischievous charm, is always ready to offer comfort—whether with glowing eyes or a wagging tail.
