Calling a dog your own isn’t just something that you do; it’s not like owning an object, but more of a new family member.
These furry family members quickly become as important to you and me as any human (I say this from very personal experience with my own dogs in the past).
Of course, if you’re going to be meeting new people, you want your dog to like them too. There is always a reason for this, if your dog does get the creeps from someone!
Daisy’s Arrival
Rachel had no idea just how much her life was going to change when she first took in Daisy. This adorable little puppy was instantly her absolute everything when they met.
All Rachel desired was the good life for Daisy, and she took care to ensure that it never failed her. Luckily, Daisy being a social butterfly had no problem making friends in the lively city of New York.
Rachel knew that Daisy would never feel scared of such strangers being naive and impossibly friendly as she was.
Rachel’s bond with Daisy was in a class of their own, she had taken her to countless adventures and dauntless moments together.
Their relationship eventually strengthened over time as they navigated long walks through Central Park and cozy nights in. Daisy made Rachel’s life happier and a lot less lonely.
Meeting Phil
Rachel never had doubts about whether her boyfriend would mesh with Daisy in the future. Many dogs owners worry about this, but her fears disappeared when she saw Phil.
Daisy had fallen head over heels for Phil the moment they began dating, she counted down to when she would see him.
Rachel told The Dodo: “But then about six months in with Phil living with us, I think Daisy began to get more attached to him than she was me. If we arrive home at similar moments, she is constantly the first one to greet him hello!
For Rachel, Phil and Daisy getting along was the icing on her family cake: We have plans for them in our next issue.
Within the same day, Phil was already apart of their tiny family This patience and kindness toward Daisy only made him endear Rachel more. He got that Daisy was her world and took second place, happily they were his two favorite humans.
The Double Proposal
When Phil planned on asking Rachel to be his wife, he had something more unique in store. He also wanted Daisy to be part of this important moment.
Once, Rachel had said she wished Daisy could have a ring too….had no idea Phil would follow through on that one.
She said: ‘I had no idea he’d even Googled it and found this tiny little toy ring in a perfect toy box, but I am surprised because he’s that sort of person.
If we are truly soulmates, my ultimate partner would understand how much of an extension to me that my beautiful Ivy is and the inclusion of her on our day just makes it all so special as well.
The day of reckoning came and both Rachel and Daisy were surprised. The precious boy was in the front seat holding his mom’s proposal ring and then there is Daisy who quickly took her toy ring next to it.
After what Phil had done, any nervousness I might have still been experiencing about actually proposing was now the furthest thing from my mind. Rachel added: “She was obviously super excited and tried to contain her excitement until she got the ring. I think a lot of girls can relate to that on their proposals!
A Happy Ending
That just put the icing on top of an already memorable day for Rachel once she saw how happy Daisy was. Rachel is grateful because she feels incredibly blessed that with Phil now a part of her family, they can start this new chapter together side-by-side.
It goes to show just what love can do if two (or three) hearts are in the right place.
