When we try something, generally most of us do not express our reaction, either positive or negative completely.
Now, with dogs — it is a bit indistinguishable. They are more than happy to write in every language what they think about something new and their reaction is sometimes comical.
Particularly when they sample a new meal or drink without even knowing that it is something unique.
As one black Labrador discovered, her tongue was in for a rude awakening when she licked what she thought was plain old water.
The Side-Eye Said It All
On her Instagram profile @theblacklabrador_poppy, a short clip was posted which of course sparked the interest of numerous followers.

Poppy the black Lab tried the concoction pulled from her owner’s cup
Her tongue can be seen excitedly running up and down at the beginning of the video as it sampled what she probably believed was just water.
But moments later her head jerks back from the rim and she take up a defensive pose as if something dangerously nipped at her tongue.
She sashays to and fro in protest and finally eyes it sideways as if saying, “What is this kung pao?”. It was water, to be sure—sparkling water.

But, in this video, Poppy expressed what she really felt about it and that her mum and dad dont need to spend their money on it. Poppy would much prefer to plunge her head under the tap.
Daddy Was “A Guilty Party”
Poppy’s Michigan-based owner, Jaclyn Littrup, you see, claimed in comments underneath the Instagram clip that it was her husband Gerrit’s fault for drinking sparkling water at the time of filming.
Poppy, being curious as always would naturally want to check it out. Littrup told Newsweek in an interview that she was just trying to sniff it because “she is always interested in what we are eating.”
Her husband finally gave in to Poppy’s pleading and so started giving her a tiny drop in the cap of a bottle. The owner of the black Lab remembers her reaction: “Well, she had a lick and she clearly does not like sparkling water.”
Poppy is such a hungry girl always, Jaclyn said she goes wild for food.
“Whenever we have a snack, open the fridge and cook she is always next to us hoping for at least a bite. Perhaps Poppy is eager to sample all that we have to offer. The Realtor stated, “We have to say no to her every now and then.
They even put her in a hamburger costume last Halloween because of her love for food!
By next Halloween, they may need to hunt down a costume in the shape of a giant bottle of fizzy water!
Her Reaction Left Followers Overjoyed
Poppy maintains her social media presence on Instagram and TikTok. As this video was published, in the midst of all the northern Michigan beauty, this stunning black Lab had counted quite a few balanced pencils within her bow.
However, this viral clip made her a star and garnered thousands of reactions from all the avid admirers.

Another quipped: “Why does it taste like tv static?!?”!”.

What Poppy did tell/show us is that next time, she will carefully consider when trying something new, particularly if it is a liquid.
Again, she will most certainly not let such an unpleasant experience.
