When you think you have turned a corner that you have had things slowly starting to turn around for you only to find out that things are only about to get worse is a very hard thing to come to terms with and that is just how our hero in todays tale felt.
Pitbull mix March was the happiest dog around when the news came down the wire that his time was up at ACCT Philly, and a better life was out there with his name on it.
However, he was returned to the Philadelphia city shelter as his adoption failed unexpectedly, and his happiness was short-lived.
Tough Luck
The poor puppy must have been shaking skint by this sudden change of events.
Almost immediately after being returned to his kennel, he became ill and very, very despondent, pulling away from the world, and basically hunkering down against a gray concrete shelter wall.
But his luck would change soon.
Dawn Timmeney, a local news reporter, came across March looking sad and alone, and knew that she needed to step in.
She wrote on her Facebook, and told everybody what an amazing doggo he really is:
… I would make a fabulous running partner. Just think of all the compliments when people ask, “Where did you get that stunning dog?” Bring the whole family down for a get together and you never know … I might be running with you before the end of March and the start of April.
The post went viral and soon after, good news followed.

New Beginning
They also said that he didn’t actually find a forever home, per se, but was transferred to one of their rescue partners who wished to remain anonymous.
However, they promised everyone that March is now with a very reputable local organisation that will foster him through their no-kill shelter.
March felt over-the-moon hearing the news. He was sooooooo happy and ready to begin his new life filled with love, snuggle and belly rubs.
This was not only good news for March, but for the shelter, as well. Now, they have an empty kennel which will be like a temporary lodge for another animal that needs it.
Final Word
Based on data compiled by ASPCA, more than 3.1 million dogs are entered in a shelter every year throughout the U.S.
With that in mind, shelters want all of the space and helping paws that they could get! To that end, please go to your local shelter and go warm the heart of a dog by either adopting them and giving a dog a home or just hanging out with them until they go to their own forever home.
