It is crucial to your wellbeing to have the peace of mind that a person in whom you are emotionally invested will not stomp on your heart. But, when your life entirely revolves around your person, the problem gets escalated.
Dogs sense human love more acutely, but they also feel tragic when that same human betrays them. That can always result in some major side-effects and the worst is a dog going to lose trust from humans.
An amazing rescuer found a dog named Jake who was in such circumstance. No wonder this poor doggo could not bring herself to see goodness in people, try as she may.
Deep In His Shell
He just showed up on her land. One of the founders of Mission Paws’ible, Prue Barber, was unhappy for quite some time to see Jake alone roaming around, so she wasted no time taking action.
The search and rescue expert thought this mission would be a piece of cake, but Jake had other plans. Have fun playing chicken, and every time she tried to get closer he disappeared amongst the bushes. However, she quickly realized that he was afraid of people and chose an alternative approach.
Prue told The Dodo: ‘I took my dog out this time and thought maybe Murphy could help him get warm. It didnt stop him from retreating back into his shell, but there was light in Jake eyes that Prue had thought long gone and she hoped this meant a happy ending.
Prue brought in the whole pack the next day after she found that Jake was only scared of humans but loved dogs. Finally, after searching with her dogs and neighbors for hours, she found him hiding behind a neighbor’s temple.
Jake was delighted to meet the canine chaps, but when Prue took a step closer to him, he got restless as hell. He started pacing nervously, and nothing could settle him.
When Prue thought better of that and decided to return the next afternoon, Jake was not home. For the following fortnight, he did not come, and this lady gradually started to give up hope that she would ever see him actually content.
A Beauty Of A Miracle
An example of one such miracle occurred outside the front door of Prue’s for the first time in fourteen days since she last laid eyes upon him. She saw a furry & friendly face from afar, smiling ear-to-ear. Jake, except this was a totally new dog.
Prue reminisced: “It was one of those extraordinary moments, honestly. From that day forward, he was very accepting of the humans in his life!”
He transformed from a dog who wouldn’t so much as look Prue in the eye, to one that shadowed her and loved being held. Even for an seasoned rescuer like Prue, it was a remarkable change.
But this dog — she was a good fit, Jake and her shared a decent chemistry, but there was still work to do — and the best place in the world for her is a warm family home. After they put photos of him on the Internet, no one claimed Jake so Prue found him a home for good.
Prue concluded joyfully: “He has the most amazing life.” “Well, he still has other friends there. He enjoys running with his mates and making mischief. — Phil Waller
Hard not to appreciate how much the life of this one dog who didn’t want to come out of his shell turned around in such as short time — miraculous! However, when we find out that unconditional love of just one good soul did this, everything makes more sense.
