This terrified shelter pup clung tightly to a worker’s leg, what happened next will warm your heart

For an abandoned dog, the transition from a loving home into the hustle and bustle of a shelter can be very traumatic.

Picture the fear and the bafflement of a dog who used to live in a loving home, walking amidst a cacophony of strange sounds, without their person, wondering what is happening to them.

The shelter workers and volunteers are the only ray of sunshine during all this madness that comforts these scared dogs.

But some dogs, such as a Pittie mix named Andy Cohen, need all the love, food, and care they can get from a shelter.

Meet Andy Cohen

Syndicated radio and TV talkshow host and producer Andy Cohen is still around.

Another Pittie mix, also named Andy Cohen, was taken to the Tift County Animal Shelter, in Tifton, Georgia, after his owner could no longer keep him.

At the start of November 2023, Andy Cohen and two other dogs were dropped off at the shelter.

According to the owner’s email to Leah Robinson, Tift County Animal Shelter rescue coordinator, the owner was returning to his old job as a truck driver and couldn’t keep his dogs.

“When they came together they were brokenhearted, huddled up in the corner scared. She added: “Andy Cohen was weird, sad, and neglected, so he was crying.

In order to persuade people to be adopting and fostering shelter dogs, especially during the holidays, the shelter also posted a video of sweet Andy Cohen seeking comfort in the staff.

This poor dog was obviously terrified and sad and held on to the employee’s leg and just would not let go. He just needed somebody who would reach out to him and be there for him and love him.

A Thanksgiving Joy

Due to constant fear and stress due to these challenges at the shelter, the management decided to get him transferred to another New York City shelter – their sister shelter Waldo’s Rescue Pen.
