These two chihuahua besties are absolutely inseparable, their incredible bond will melt your heart!

As someone who has previously been a dog owner, one thing I wish I would have had given my German Shepherd was another puppy companion.

In hindsight, having a doggy sibling is something we may have owed him. Just being with us was not always quite enough.

As I reflect on that time, it seems so long ago, yet they deserve a friend for life, and the bond that dogs have is most definitely unique.

And that is the kind of change we are going to see with these two chihuahuas who were living their life as street dogs until the day rescuers saved them and gave them a second chance at a better one.

Romeo And Juliet

Rescuers from Fox’s Den who found Romeo and Juliet on the streets of Washington knew in that instant that the two dogs were meant to stay together.

They are now safe because the rescuers took them in and gave them a fighting chance. Well, obviously small — they were a toy breed but probably also undernourished.

Whatever time they spent outside is unknown, but who cares at this point – their rescuers are going to do everything so they can put on weight again.

Romeo also had several health issues of his own that required fixing. He had joint disease and it slowed him down some.

They were taken in by rescuers who only allowed them to be adopted as long as they could stay together. They had to be taken in together, both pups were completely inseparable.

Splitting them up would be an awful thing to do, so the shelter decided that they had to go to a home together.

That’s when a new mom of theirs just walked right in and adopted the two of them. Everyone was so happy about this, and the two dogs were on their way to a new life together.

They Are Best Buddies

Although Romeo and Juliet were happy to be in their new home, WA State, at last, initially, they were a bit hesitant and nervous.

That would quickly dissipate once they adjusted to being with their new mom, who tended to them. She sensed Juliet the two had been playful.

But when she gets tired, she always races back to Romeo, and they snuggle up

What made Romeo particularly special was that, as such a small dog, he had a HUGE appetite. He eats so fast that he sometimes even steals Juliet’s food.

She warns him to back off, but really, who knows if he would ever take it seriously. However, the bond between these two dogs is so special that mom is grateful for it!

At 10 years old, these beauties are senior dogs, but they still get around and play very well for their age!

I hope they are getting the best care. Their mom makes sure of that, and I am so glad they finally had this opportunity — thanks to mom and all the dedicated donors who saved them.
